One of the best part of my trip to copenhagen was visiting Conspiracy Inc. Tattoo. It was nice meeting Amalie and Uncle Allan again. The new Conspiracy Inc. Tattoo shop interior was really cool with lots of nice paintings in antique frames, stuffed animals, nice wall paper…etc. and the color scheme was very unique. It was an inspiring tour around the shop! Thank you Amalie once again for having us!

I was excited when I saw this book at the bookstore. Thought it would be a nice book to have in remembrance of my visit.
Above is a little summary of the kind of products you can find in GRØNLYKKE at Læderstræde 3-5, Copenhagen. There are 2 stores located side by side. Both are extremely colorful and vibrant. One had an eclectic selection of ethnic/oriental/pop products ranging from bags & pouches to cushions & ornaments. The other had a colorful selection of kitchen wares, stationary…etc. I really liked the ethnic pouches from Laos and the interesting selection of printed fabrics. A nice place to shop for one of a kind interior fabrics and unique ornaments for your home.

A cute shop called Liebe located at Kompagnistræde 23. You can get there easily from Nørreport station. They sell mainly kids wear and accessories but there are some knick knacks for the room as well. They had these really nice porcelain knobs which I totally regret not getting now. And I can’t even find a picture online to show you how nice they are! Maybe I can try making them some day but I can’t figure out how to insert the screw. Need to do some research on that. Anyway, please check out this shop if you are around the corner!

This year, I have been lucky to be given the opportunity to visit Hong Kong, Shanghai, London, Germany, Copenhagen and Paris to do market research on interior trends. It was very inspiring going around the shops and looking at the different styles of home furnishing. Every country has a different color palette and aesthetics. In my next post, I would like to talk about the interior lifestyle (Zakka) shops that I visited in Copenhagen. For those who have plans to visit Copenhagen and who are interested in Zakka, I hope this would come in useful someday.
I am back! I was in Copenhagen doing a market research on the interior lifestyle shops & trends. It was my first time in a Scandinavian country and Copenhagen was simply amazing! I am totally blown away by the clean and vibrant colors it has to offer. The pictures above were taken at Nyhavn. Quite a touristy area it seems but no doubt a great place to visit in Summer.
I will be talking more about my trip in the following post but meanwhile, here are some of things I liked about the city.
Nature & Space
There are lots of nice areas for sitting around and enjoying nature.
There are bicycle lanes on the roads and designated cars on the trains for bicycles!!!
Buskers on the streets
There were quite a few young buskers on the streets. It was nice to see aspiring talents. I really liked this group with handmade puppets.
The cute logo has brought fame to Irma in Japan. Irma merchandises are quite sought after here and people actually bid for Irma plastic/paper bags on yahoo auction japan.
More updates coming up!
