Silkscreen weekend

I ♥Tshirt-kun!

Made a 2 color silkscreen print fabric with my tshirt-kun for the first time. This is the first test print. I think I will need some practice to perfect the alignment. This print was originally designed for the festive season but hopefully by changing the color combination, I’d be able to use them all year round. Silkscreening is so fun!
This was how I did it:

1. Place silk in between frames and tighten with screws

2. Paste drawing on silkscreen

3. Place silkscreen inside Tshirt-kun exposure machine

4. Set timer/expose screen

5. Screen is ready

6. Brush silkscreen with water

7. Leave to dry completely

8. Start printing

What is everyone doing on Christmas eve? I did a drawing of these cone-shaped man while waiting for my coworkers to be done with work. We are having a small party at our favorite restaurant, SUMIYA.

Last Sunday, I was invited to an early X’mas party and wanted to make a little gift for everyone. I tried Yummy dough for the first time and it was great fun! Yummy dough is play dough that can be baked and eaten. The dough mixes come in 4 basic colors and you can mix them to create your own colors. After kneading them into the shape you like, all you have to do is put them in a toaster/oven for approx.7 minutes and your cookies are ready to be served! The kind of play dough I wish I had when I was a kid.

Stumbled upon a very delightful shop when I was out doing market research in Kichijoji last week. Ttable office is a temporary shop featuring works by Korean artist, Choi Yunsook. The works were very dreamy, hopeful and inspiring. Ttable office will be at Poool gallery Kichijoji till 2 Jan 2011. Do drop by if you are in Tokyo!

This is my favorite notebook.

I have been using Puggy’s Best High Stationer Note Book for the past 8 years. I love it cause the pages has no lines and the paper texture is perfect for drawing. Doodling in this notebook is probably one of my favorite past times. Unfortunately, they have stopped producing them this year and I would buy up all the dead stock if given the chance.

2 years ago, I was lucky to have my doodles from this notebook printed onto fabric and made into glee‘s first series of eco-friendly shopping bags. It was quite a fun and exciting experience for me.

These bags reminds me of hardship but there are also lots of happy memories of time spent doing what I like!

I should probably start looking for a replacement notebook soon but nothing compares to Puggy’s Best!

This is mt tape‘s latest collaboration with Tepra pro( king jim). Seems like it is only available in Japan so I thought I should share it here with everyone. With Tepra PRO SR300 and these new mt tape cartridges, you can now create neat mt tape labels easily. I like the fact that they’ve made it so easy to DIY and add cute patterns and colors to your daily life.
