As a big Onigiri fan, how could I possibly resist getting this set of Onigiri playing cards? It has all the flavors of Onigiri you can think of! This series was created by Layup Design Labo and is now available at their online store. They are pretty pricey for playing cards but the designs are so cute! Besides onigiri, they also have Bento, Toast and Hamburger playing cards! How fun!
Finally got my copy of the Hello Sandwich Gift Wrapping Zine! I must be one of the last few amongst my friends to get hold of this. Nevertheless, I am enjoying every bit of this 64-page zine of fun and colorful gift wrapping ideas. I love how things from our everyday lives can be reused and made into beautiful gift wrapping ornaments. This zine is filled with inspiration and how-to guides to add a personal touch to your gifts. For those who have not gotten a copy yet, it is back on sale at the Hello Sandwich Shop.
Pictures from Color Collective / Patterns by Polkaros
These are some of the patterns that I’ve made with the help of Color Collective‘s color palettes. I am currently designing patterns for a series of fabric storage boxes at work. I was not very excited about the project initialy but once I imported these color palettes into my workspace and started making patterns, I realized that I was able to create stuff that were quite refreshing as these were colors that I would not usually use. This was my first time using the color palettes from Color Collective and I am quite pleased with the outcome. Glad I found a new way of approaching a project.
Pictures from Lazy Jane.
My very good friend HL form Lazy Jane has put together a set of souvenirs from her previous trips to Japan in an effort to raise money for the animals affected by the quake via PETA. Each little package comes with a handmade necklace in a crocheted purse, assorted paper goodies and an new roll of printed mt tape. NICE!
For more details, please visit her Cheap Charlie shop on etsy!
The entrance was colorfully decorated with mt tapes.
The garden as well…
The corridor as well..
‘What would you wrap?’ and the answer below says ‘wisdom, kindness, thoughtfulness, tradition….’
Heart shape ornaments♥
After the Hello Sandwich workshop…
Would love to organize my home with these boxes!
Lovely craft ideas…
Getting ready for the next workshop…
Level 2 = mt shop!!
Tons of patterns!
Love these pins… why didn’t I get them!?
mt seal! Another brilliant product!
Gashapon! Have always wanted to own one!
Besides the spacious workshop area, the mt school for wrapping also had a cafe and a shop on level 2. The mt shop probably carried all the mt tapes that have ever been made. I noticed a few new products that I have not seen in the market yet and got really excited. I ended up buying many things on impulse but have no regrets! After making your purchases, there was actually a corner with tons of free mt tape for you to decorate your shopping bags! On top of that, they had the revolutionary mt x Tepra printer where you could test print your own mt tape labels! How brilliant!
Life in Tokyo is getting back to normal, trains are getting packed again and streets are crowded like before. Feels strange that in just 200km or so away, there are people who have lost their loved ones and homes to the disaster, living in shelters and still experiencing aftershocks. I know we can’t expect everyone to be in grief all the time but sometimes I wonder if it is resilience or nonchalance. I guess it is the responsibility of the Tokyoites to keep the economy going. I do admire and respect the resilient peeps around me eg. the people in my company. We are now expected to work a lot harder than before.
We will be exhibiting gleePEEPS (products above & more) at the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair from 27-30 April. If you are a buyer looking for some new gift ideas, you might want to check out this show. Please visit our booth if you are there!
