The Royal Cafe is a quaint cafe located at the Royal Copenhagen flagship store on Copenhagen’s main shopping street, Strøget. After a long day of walking around zakka shops, this was definitely the best place to stop for a late lunch. The interior deco is quirky with grand embellishments that are modern and pop at the same time. There is a raw handmade feel to parts of the deco that makes it unpredictable and exciting. I really love the use of colors!

Besides the amazing interior, another memorable part about the cafe was a very original and unique dish they had on the menu called Smushi. We had a hard time trying to figure out what it was right until it was served, we were still a little puzzled. Smushi is actually a traditional Danish smørrebrød with a contemporary sushi twist. A must try!
