Polkaros x Swatch POP

Group shot

We co-created a series of artworks with Swatch for their new ‘Swatch POP’ collection. The fun part about this collection is that the watch faces can be popped out and worn in different ways. Here are the artworks we created that was inspired by 4 of the watches from the new collection – POP dancing, POPthusiasm, Poplooking and POPpingpop. Which is your favourite Swatch POP?

Tegamisha Book & Coffee Cafe

Spend an afternoon in a quiet neighbourhood of Chofu city at one of Tokyo’s alternative book cafe, Tegamisha (手紙舎カフェ), locataed just 30 minutes away from Shinjuku. With tastefully curated shelves of books and zines on art, craft and lifestyle, it’s one place you should come by if you’re in Tokyo.

There is a little cozy cafe at the back of the store, or upstairs at Level 2 where you can enjoy a good cup and cake while you read a book, or have a go at their daily food menu.

Tokyo Design Week 2015

Polkaros made a trip to Tokyo Design Week 2015 this week and it was great fun appreciating all emerging designer’s work at the event. Here’s Tokyo Design Week, Polkaros style!

DSC03913This year’s Design Week theme is “interactive” and hence, most of the exhibits are related to “interactive” in one way or another. From colourful Japanese clogs called geta, traditional crafts to modern spaces and ideas!

Singapore Dessert Collection

Singapore Dessert Collection

We will be at The little dröm store on 1st November (Sunday), to launch our Singapore Dessert Collection, a collaboration series with The Little Drom Store. We started talking about this project since last November and are so excited to finally share it with you! Do drop by if you are in town! Let’s have a chat about our favourite Singapore Desserts this Sunday!

ICE KA-CHAN
Meet Ice-Ka-Chan, inspired by the popular Singapore dessert ‘Ice Kachang’ made of shaved ice, assorted beans, jelly and colorful syrup!

TANG YUAN
This is Tang Yuan, inspired by one of my favorite desserts as a kid. It is a traditional Chinese dessert made of glutinous rice flour rolled into little balls and served in a sweet soup.

Photo credit: The Little Drom Store they did such an amazing job! And special thanks to Hello Sandwich – Ebony and Kat for helping with the photo shoot at the Hawker Centre (1st pic) when they were visiting Singapore!
