Only Free Paper Shibuya

Only Free Paper is a very cute shop in Shibuya filled with free promotional materials such as postcards, zines, brochures and leaflets. It is always enjoyable to visit as they have lots of information on upcoming events and guides to galleries and museums in Tokyo. Not to mention, the designs of the free papers are usually very cute and the paper quality is lovely too!

Besides free paper, they also have a small section of zines for sale. They started carrying our Polkaros lifestyle zine a few months ago and it has recently been restocked! Do drop by if you are in Shibuya and would like a copy!

Our new Zine!

This zine takes a look at Polkaros items past and present, concepts and realizations, hand crafted works and products produced for the mass market. It offers a glimpse into the world of Polkaros through illustrations, photography and craft. It also comes with a Polkaros tote bag that you can decorate and have fun with! If you’d like a copy, it is currently available in our online store here.

Tokyo Art Book Fair 2011 was held in 3331 Arts Chiyoda, a very nice art space that is based in a renovated a Junior high school.

The event was filled with lots of amazing art books and zines from all over the world.

I was excited to see a wide variety of self-published zines made of different kinds paper and printing techniques. There were just too many cute zines with pretty colors and nice paper!

Oh I have been so busy ever since my farewell party! I am happy to announce that I will be will be participating in the Tokyo Art Book Fair 2011 this Saturday (16 July)! I will be selling my Polkaros JAPON zine for the first time in Japan.

Tokyo Art Book Fair is an annual arts publishing fair organized by Zine’s mate. You can see some lovely pictures of the event last year on Hello Sandwich’s blog here. I am so excited that my table will be alongside Ebony and her friend, Grace this year!

Polkaros Zine : SOLD OUT!

Sorry for my lack of updates! I have been quite busy as I am going through a major transition in my life now! Change is not easy at all!! I will talk more about it when the time is right!

Anyway, great news! Polkaros zine was sold out within the first hour of the MCA zine fair! Not bad? Even though I’ve only made 10 copies, I thought the response was quite encouraging. Since I’ve gathered some orders here and there, I have decided to print more copies for selling online! As I will be sending them to a proper printer this time, there will be small changes such as, the zine will not be stitch bound and there will be no colored tracing paper in between.

Thank you all so much for your interest and support! I will keep you updated when they up for sale!
