Koenji is one of my favorite towns in Tokyo. I used to live there for about 4 years and this week I decided to revisit the neighborhood. Koenji is well-known for its vintage clothing shops and live pubs but in the recent years, more zakka shops and cafes have sprung up in the area. It looks a lot more vibrant than before. I started my visit with a nice lunch at Hattifnatt Cafe.

As the raining season has started in Tokyo, the cafe was decorated with paper Teru Teru Bozu made by their customers. What a cute idea!

I couldn’t resist making one too!

I wish you all a very happy weekend!

Such a gorgeous cafe. When I visited, I tried going here twice, but it was closed, can’t wait to go and eat there!
i haven’t seen anything similar!
it’s like eating in a fairytale
& lovely paper decoration you made!
What a great little cafe. I love the painted walls and those little hanging dolls are so fun. Yours is so cute. I’ve never heard of many of these things about Tokyo. It’s fun learning them from you. I’ll check out your Poppytalk shop. I love anything vintage!!!!
