Polkaros is a lifestyle brand founded in Tokyo in 2011, by Singaporean ceramic artist and designer Ros Lee. Combining a love of traditional Japanese craft and modern zakka (lifestyle products), Polkaros handcrafted ceramic characters are a juxtaposition of the old and new, reflecting the values that she holds close to heart. 

Growing up in a family pottery business, clay has always felt like home to Ros. Upon receiving the NAC-Takashimaya Scholarship in 2005, Ros moved to Tokyo to pursue her studies in art and design. After graduating, Ros spent several years working as a lifestyle product designer in Tokyo where she gained valuable personal and professional experience. She continued to practise pottery throughout her time in Japan.

In 2016 Ros moved back to Singapore and opened Polkaros studio, a creative space for clay exploration, workshops and gatherings. Alongside creating her own collections, Ros shares her craft through classes and open studio sessions, inviting children and adults to slow down, explore with their hands, and discover the joy of making.

Ros aims to bring art to everyday life, to everyone, through handcrafted creations and craft experiences.
